Rising Brand vs Certificate of Excellence: What Is the Difference?
Review Mark has two certificate levels: Excellence and Rising Brand. Here is what each one means for shoppers, and how brands earn them.
Review Mark Team ·

When you see a Review Mark certificate on a brand’s page, shop wall or packaging, it means the brand has been independently assessed. There are two levels.
Certificate of Excellence: 4.5 to 5.0
Awarded to brands that score 4.5 or higher in the Review Mark assessment. These brands perform strongly across the ten assessed areas, from quality and customer service to delivery and reputation.
Rising Brand: 4.0 to 4.4
Awarded to brands that score between 4.0 and 4.4. A Rising Brand delivers a good experience and is on its way to excellence, with a few areas still to improve.
How brands are assessed
- Ten areas suited to the industry: product brands, hotels and resorts, restaurants and service businesses each have their own list.
- Public reviews on Google, Facebook and other platforms are checked.
- Review Mark’s team gives a score for each area and an overall score.
See the full list in the Excellence Criteria.
A certificate cannot be bought
Brands cannot pay for a certificate. Paid services such as Brand Improvement help a brand find and fix problems, but the certificate is only awarded when the assessment score qualifies.
How to verify a certificate
Every certificate has a unique ID, such as RM-2026-LM9Y7H, and a QR code. Enter the ID on the verification page to check that it is genuine and still valid.
Certified brands
See every brand that holds a certificate on the Certified Brands page. Brands that want to know where they stand can start with a Free Assessment.
Frequently asked questions

Can a Rising Brand become Excellence?
